Tragedy, when the feelings gone and you can’t go on it’s tragedy.

Hope you didn’t miss me, but tragedy struck the world of Fitmidget last week hence the reason I have largely been offline.

Upon reaching the climax of my pre-event training schedule, hitting a 55km running week, three intense weight training sessions, and 5 of the best nights sleeps I’ve ever had…… I was also informed that my trail-athlon event has been cancelled.

Buh bow… Instant let down.

The event had to be cancelled due to low registrations early on. Originally the interest had registered 4 times the amount of participants who had actually entered by last week and so the organisers decided to pull the plug with the possibility of re-introducing it into the calendar next year.

Unfortunately this left me feeling not only a little disappointed, but immediately lost as to where to go with my training from here.

It got me to thinking about how many other event driven fitness fanatics might have experienced the same sort of thing.

Where what seems like all of sudden, you find yourself essentially… goal less.

Perhaps you were training for a martial arts fight that your opponent pulled out of? Or an event that the weather ended up postponing or cancelling? I’d love to hear about it perhaps in a chance to feel normal about the disappointment, so feel free to leave a comment if you have at some point shared my pain.

Meanwhile I’m off to search for a new event!
